We have a temp star furnace. The tech. said the fan timer ( st9160b 1050 ) was out. Replaced it with an Universal Fan Timer ( st9120 b ). Said that did not work, might be faulty? Would order new one, have to wait tell Monday. I did find a new one, and replaced all wires in the same places, still does not work. Did notice the wiring pattern on the bottom of the old and new do not match. Old reads R C W Y G . As the new one reads, C G Y W R. Could this be the reason the new one does not work? Thanks suppose to get down in the 30's tonight.

The terminals you refer to are thermostat connedtions. For heat you need only to connect the R & W terminals to the Red & White thermostat wires. If things still don't work, you have another problem.

NOTE: To power the thermostat (if digital & not battery powered) you may also have to connect a wire to the Common (C) terminal. The color of the common wire is not standardized but should be something other than red, white, green, or yellow. You can check the wiring on the thermostat to see what color wire is connected to which terminal.
