I have in mind to build a loading ramp for a utv out of wood. I am thinking of using 4 2''x10''x10' placed on end (two individual ramps) covered with 3'4'' x (16'' or 18'') plywood with 2''x4'' s attached to the bottom. The utv weighs 1600lbs. What I am concerned about is this strong enough to support the utv.-thanksfor any help-Paman

I looked up the load capacity of a single 2x10 spanning 10 feet. Load capacity is, depending upon species of wood, somewhere between 1250 and 1340 lbs. If you double up the 2x10s you should be more than okay. Be sure you use appropriate screws and metal brackets to put the ramp together, also use construction adhesive. If you do that, you won't have any problems.
