State prison. Got in trouble , discipline , moved to a lock down 24 hrs. from a camp. Not allowed to see family visits. Seems like danger inside, something is wrong. Locked in with 1 other guy 24 hrs. phones get broke a lot. Faxed administration, said had to do it there, not transfer to another prison. 4th place he has been did o.k. the first two... now what.. please thank-you

If he got into trouble, and is in "lock down" then as part of the punishment for getting into trouble, they are not allowed phone calls normally, (some states allow one per week) and even visitation will be limited. This is a result of getting into trouble, and is a normal and regular punishment. Also they will be limited to store, and other activities. Normally they are allowed one shower a day a one hour of yard time.** could not find it, but believe there are federal mandates on those.

His housing, or prison assigned will depend first on security level, if moved from a camp to a prison, then it means his security level has been or will be increased and viewed as a higher risk now. ** unless camp does not have lock down facility.

The inmate can apply for a change in prison, but I see nothing to say there is danger, there is danger in all prisons, the higher the security level, of the prison, normally the more dangerous the inmate in the prison.

Unless there are issues with gang membership, ( but that is normally balanced) or unless issues with things like HIV normally just because a prison is dangerous, is not a reason for a transfer.

The inmate if he is in fear, can request, with proof, protectivie custody ( safety lock down) but his movement is greatly restricted)
