Hi, about a month ago, I felt a burning sensation on the left side of my right hand near the joint. When it goes unnoticed, I feel pain. I left it because of the burning sensation and thought it was just a muscle. When I stroke it lightly with my finger it's a burning sensation with light pain. The today the same burning happened on the tip of my left ring finger and left thumb and my ring finger suddenly started going numb. Can you please help.

Not sure of your age and we can't tell you what is actually going on. With that said it sounds like you will need to see a doctor as you could have some form of a repetative injury going on. You need to get this checked out as soon as you can because often times numbness inplies a restriction or disconnection of some form. Get looked at by a medical professional for a full evaluation.

You posted this in Pregnancy & New Motherhood. Are you pregnant?

This is happening in BOTH hands?
Often pain/tingling/burning/numbness in one hand is related to how you use that hand, and often that is from constant use of a computer mouse. Two hands can be the same, but from lots of typing. It can be from sports. It can be from carrying an infant around the house.

You may find that a doctor will adopt a wait and see attitude if something evident isn't apparent on examination, like carpal tunnel or a wrist ganglion, or something wrong with a neck vertebrae that is pinching nerves down both arms. You might want to consider asking for an initial free talk with a chiropractor if the doctor finds nothing.
