Could be a sign of a sludging problem. Start using full synthetic heavy duty diesel engine oil. This will safely clean the engine and likely solve the problem. Oil pressure builds up to 7 times faster than conventional oil.

Use your regular Motorcraft filter, along with one of these oils:
Mobil Delvac 1 5W-40
Mobil 1 Turbo Diesel Truck 5W-40
Delo 400 LE Synthetic SAE 5W-40
Amsoil 5W-40: AMSOIL Premium API CJ-4 Synthetic 5W-40 Diesel Oil (DEO)
Motorcraft® SAE 5W-40 Full Synthetic Diesel Motor Oil
Any turbo diesel should only use full synthetic diesel HDEO.
