I am 28 years old and have had female problems for almost a year, more so worsening the past 3-4 months and this month becoming worse. Last year, I had what we thought was a cyst rupture and had bleeding two weeks before my actual period date. Keep in mind I have been very regular for over 3, almost 4 years now. I was fine for several months and then in February or march of this year I had a similar problem but with serious pain that made me sick to my stomach. I have a lot of pains during my periods. I had another episode like this in mid summer of this year. However this month, my period was almost a week late but I had light spotting or more like just light blood on the toilet paper when I wiped. Then I had a heavy period this month (like I said a week late) and it was very painful and I passed two large clots that caused enormous pain into my back and down my leg when it passed. After my period was over I was fine for about a week and have been bleeding off and on ever since (about a week now). It was very light an only when I would wipe at first and now it seems to be getting heavier. When I am at work and on my feet for long periods, I will sometimes experience a great deal of pain, unbearable at times. But since the bleeding has got a bit heavier, the pain is not as bad, just an occasional pain. Now, it is about 3 days away from when I would normally have my period before it got all messed up this past month. What could possibly be going on? I am not on any birth controls nor have I ever been. Experienced a bit of tiredness but usually only when I am working. I still have energy and don't seem to be fatigued. Thanks for any advice!

This sounds a lot like endometriosis- it can cause clots, cysts, abnormal bleeding, and lots of pain. Are you having pain when you have sex, or when you pass bowel movements? I have endometriosis, and all of the symptoms that you mentioned (and more) are common with this disorder. Look it up and compare your symptoms.

Other possibilities are some sort of infection, dysfunctional uterine bleeding, or uterine cancer. You didn't mention whether you are or were taking birth control, or if pregnancy/miscarriage was an option, either.

You should probably see a doctor to find out what it is. Maybe go to a clinic if you can't afford to see a doctor. You're only going to keep worrying if you don't figure out what is going on for sure, and only a doctor is going to be able to tell you that. Plus, some of the things that can cause your symptoms are life-threatening, and others are fertility-threatening, so you will probably want to make sure no permanent damage is going on.

Not trying to scare you or anything- it could be something relatively common and easy to treat, but you should definitely find out for sure, for your sanity if nothing else.

Good luck, and take care.
