I have recently had a gas boiler moved and employed a company that is described as gas safe locally. They sent two young lads aged 18 and 20years. These lads though pleasant and willing did not appear confident and broke several items and drilled through the wall shattering the bricks. They put an electrical plate in the controls to the boiler the wrong way and I was without central heating. They did not test that I had running hot water or that the heating was working before they left. The job took twice as long as the firm originally indicated but they did not charge for the additional time. Were these lads old enough to be gas safe and working on boilers without more experienced supervision do you think?

I think they would have to be certified, but what country are you in, the UK?

Did you ask the company they came from ?

As tickle stated ''they would have to be certified''.

At age 20 could be in the trade as long as three years. This and tests required for certification would be long enough.
If worked part time while in school time in trade could be longer.

Age has nothing to do with ability. I have worked with people much old but did not care.
