My hands go numb several times during the night while sleeping. Once in awhile during the day. I take meds for high blood pressure and gout. 52 yrs old

I'd get that checked out by my doctor. I'd also visit my chiropractor. :)

(For years, as a trucker, you may have been holding your head at a certain angle and messed up your neck so that now nerves and muscles in hands and maybe arms are affected.)

If you are still driving a truck for a living, yes, you are going to have numb hands, and all you can do is try to loosen your grip a few times a minute, wiggle your fingers and wrists a lot, wear compression gloves (drugstore, internet) even to bed, sleep on lots of pillows under your shoulders, and add a 2" memory foam topper to your bed.
