I'm 18 and my boyfriend is 30, he came here legally last year and I was wondering if I can fix his papers for him to obtain a green card when we get married, and what would I need to do?

If you actually believe getting married will change anything... you are in for one heck of a shock... because it doesn't... it only complicates everything.

Work on getting it first... because if it turns out he CAN'T get one for a number of reasons... what will you do... and odds are however he came here legally... its likely to expire before it gets done... and in most cases he would have to return to his home country.

There are a LOT of misconceptions about getting a green card... the worst one is thinking marriage will cure the problem or make it any easier.

It might take years to get. And its certainly going to cost a LOT of money.

Yes... been through this myself... learned these lessons the hard way...

(Assuming this is about the United States) What is your status? Are you a U.S. citizen? Or permanent resident? Or something else?

Assuming this is about US... No, not yet. Petitioner must be at least 21 years of age, must have proof of income, etc.
