If I hold the key in the on(crank) position the car stay on and allows me to rev, but as soon as I let go the car dies out. I checked all fuses and they are all good. My alternater is also brand new. Any ideas what it can be?

You need to replace the ignition switch. Be sure to disconnect the negative battery cable first.

You wouldn't happen to know what tools I'm going to need to remove it?
