What appears when I reset the DLink 524 router after typing in the IP address is "Server says: DI-524. I used this as my user name and leave the password blank but it did not work. I changed the user name to Admin and leave the password blank still didn't work. Need help please.

Have you looked on D Links website... look at the user documentation... it tells you have to actually reset it... which you do with a paperclip in a recessed button not by typing the IP address.

I also HIGHLY recommend changing it and writing it down and taping it to it right afterwards... otherwise it could easily be hacked by anyone outside. Your house.
