HELLO,

This is my first post here

I have a problem my 3 yr old does not speak,we want to train him but he don't give much importance to our words,though his hearing powers are excellent,he sometimes utter2-3 words of his own choice,
We are in foreign country and have very few friends here,so do not have much social life,


I don't know how he will behave in pre-schools etc,

Any suggestion how should I treat my kid...

Does he need to speak?

If he wants something, make him ask for it, don't just give something to him because he points at it and grunts. He'll soon get the idea that asking for something is far easier then not asking. He isn't trying to defy you, he just doesn't know that there is any point in speaking, if he can get everything he wants without asking :)

Thanks for replyi m trying this also-but he just ignored and begins to weep,
Though he is intellegent but sometimes behave strangely
He knows very well what is good and bad for him,he copy almost our every action like vacuum cleaning,dresssing up,even buttering us when he wants to go out etc etc

May God help me,he is my only child.

Have you taken him to the doctor? There might be something preventing him from speaking well.
