Hello I have been having abdominal pain for over 24hours + accompanied by some lower back pain and have not been able to have a bowel movement or pass gas. My question is should I go to the ER as the pain is staying pretty constant and severe with no feeling of progress in my stomach towards a bowel movement?

Sounds like you could be constipated. If you make an appointment for your regular doctor would you be given an appointment right away?

Thanks for the Response. No my doctor will not be available until Monday and I am supposed to leave on vacation tomorrow morning. The pain is pretty bad and constant and I am becoming concerned as there seems to be no improvement after almost 2 days.

If the pain is that severe maybe the ER would be where to go. If it is constipation you can drink some herbal tea, take digestive enzymes and eat foods that help like fruits, high fiber cereal, beans and broccoli. 10 Foods That Help Relieve Constipation - Digestive Health Center - Everyday Health (http://www.everydayhealth.com/digestive-health-pictures/10-foods-that-help-relieve-constipation.aspx#/slide-2)

However, the foods that were advised above will not resolve your pain or constipation over night. This will take a few days. You don't want to suffer while on vacation.

Go to the ER, it is possible you have a blockage.

Yes that should be a daily habit to keep from reoccurring issues.
