I am having trouble with my left ankle. At first I thought I pulled my achilles tendon but my husband says it is more at the back of my foot along my heel and my pain is on the inside of my foot running up my ankle. Sometimes I can get up and just walk off fine but a lot of the time I get up to walk and it shoots a sharp pain up my ankle and I end up walking with a limp.
And as if that isn't enough, the top of my right foot also hurts and swells occasionally. The pain there is like someone has pinched my foot and causes it to tingle then goes away and doesn't hurt much. It isn't bothering me as much as my left foot/ankle.
Can anyone tell me what the problem is. Would it do any good to take Aleve regularly for a few days and see if that helps?
I take high blood pressure medicine as well as high chlosterol medicine too.
Thanks for any input. We live in a rural area with not much access to speciality doctors. Have to travel quite a ways to do that.

not sure you need a specialty doctor, what about a x-ray or scan of your foot by your regular doctor to start with.

Also are you over weight ? Other health issues ? What type of job ? On your feet a lot ?

Hi, without trying to diagnois, I had a similar pain an found relieve using an elastic band to stretch my foot before putting weight on it in the morning. Here's a good read,
