I have picture signed by M.D.Shaw. Oil/acrylic? It depicts a mining village dominated by winding gear of a mine but a large white heap close-by seems to suggest that this is not a coal mine. The houses have very acute eaves and all appear to have sky-lights in the roofs. These roofs suggest a European style architecture. Can anyone give information on MD Shaw or location etc..

He could have been a local small time painter or something I could not find anything on him or his work.
