I have a Whirlpool electric dryer that won't start. The model number is
LEC6646AQO. I have a volt/ohms meter and have completed the following tests:
- Thermal switch - OK
- Switch nearest the thermal switch (same housing) - OK
- Door Switch - OK
- Start Switch - OK
- 3 thermal switches on heating unit and housing - OK
Other symptoms:
- When the start switch is depressed, you can feel a 'vibration', as if current is flowing.
- With the start switch depressed and the timer 'engaged' to a dryer setting, you can move/wiggle the timing knob/unit and the dryer will sometimes start and run for awhile before stopping. Everything is now working normally, including the rotation of the drum and production of blown exhaust heat.
Based on all of the above, what is your diagnosis? Thanks!
