Yes we moved into our home a little over a year ago and we have been having trouble with a back up coming out of one of our clean ups... We stopped flushing toilet paper and that seemed to help but now we are having the same issue. When I went out to the clean up to check it out there was a bunch of weird looking stuff that I pulled out(not with my hands lol) it looks like a white log with food inside of it, the log looks like its made of paper when I crushed it with the poll it just fell apart. Does anyone have ANY idea what this log looking thing could be?

It's on city sewer and it also has been over 6 months since toilet paper has been flushed.

How old is the house? At least we know you don't have a septic tank issue of cessfield issue.

I'd recommend having a plumber come out... snake it out to the street... and run a camera through the pipes to make sure they don't have any collapsed sections of have low spots from ground settling. If you have either of those conditions you will lhave recurring problems until they are corrected.

Also trees anywhere near the path of the sewer line will send masses of roots that will clog up the pipes. And they can do this a surprising distance... a camera will show any of these conditions and worth the expense for peace of mind.

The house was put in back in 2002 I believe? Thank you I'm looking for a plumer now :)

You don't need a camera run every time its done... since this is a new to you house... you will know what you are dealing with better. And what to expect.
Like you gutters... the line has to have a continuous slope for it to drain well... if any part of it settled since it was put in.. you now have a low spot where heavier matter will settle and collect. Hopefully it won't be the case... but if it is you need to know. And they can know within feet of where it is... you won't have to dig everything up.
