My boss gave me one of his older laptops because it was broke. At the log in screen it would keep pressing buttons by itself and if you try to boot from anything other than normal windows boot it beeps over and over.
I REPLACED THE KEYBOARD and it fixed the issue.
Now I have a perfectly good laptop that is not extremely old but I can't figure out how to format the hard drive. He has windows 7 on it and can't remember what the old password was.
THINGS IVE TRIED:
Booting from CD with a windows 7 disk no luck here. It tries to repair and once it realized nothing is wrong it goes directly to the log in screen.
Booting from CD with a Linux mint disk. Same problem here except it skips Linux all together and goes directly to log in.
I tried putting the hard drive in another laptop. It was a Toshiba but different model. Windows booted right up at the log in screen lol.
I also can not figure out how to get to MSDOS on these newer machines before windows boots up.
Any help would be great! Thank you
