My question is regarding time limits allowed before it is too late to file a case or complaint.
In a case for violation of a protection order, (gross misdemeanor) from time violation occurred, how much time is allowed to pass before complaint is filed, charges pressed?
If after complaint was filed, the case was dismissed without prejudice, what is the time limit allowed for the case to be brought back? (This is a gross misdemeanor.)
If complaint was dismissed without prejudice and in fact case of alleged violation was brought for improper reasons, how much time is allowed before it is too late to bring a malicious prosecution or abuse of process? Does it start at time of alleged violation? Time of dismissal without prejudice? Or Time of end of time to bring back dismissed without predjudice case?
Am I using correct terminology to try to look up statute of limitations' or is this called somehting else?
