I was put on Trimethoprim Antibiotics two weeks ago for three days and was wondering CAN TRIMETHOPRIM EFFECT MY PERIODS FROM BEING LATE?

My last period was 21st February to the 25th February 2007 I am now two days late.

COULD I BE PREGNANT AND CAN TRIMETHOPRIM CAUSE MY PERIODS TO BE LATE?

I don't know if you are on birth control pills, but many antibiotics cause the pill to be less effective. I don't believe that Trimethoprim is one though, at least my drug book does not state that this is one.

I am guessing you had a UTI and that is why you were on this med as it is a urinary antiinfective. The infection itself may be causing you to be a little late. Two days is not really considered late in even the most regular of women.

With that said, if you are sexually active there is always a chance you could be pregnant. If you don't get your period in the next week consider taking a HPT or making a doctor's appointment.
