Hi All. I have a really big problem, I'm trying to get some help and some answers.
I have a neighbour that I had a peace bond on them for pointing a gun at me and saying they were going to kill me. They both plead guilty and the bond was good for a year. It is now over and they are starting up again. But my question is this. They have installed video cameras with sound, they tell the officers it's for protection. But we have found that they are using it to monitor our coming and going. They even have a camera, with sound, right beside our front door. So we can't even sit on our front deck and have a conversation. Here is an example of what I mean. Last year I was sick and had to go for radiation treatments. My sister and I were talking about this as we got out of the car and came in the house. The next day I was going out, and my neighbour came rushing out of her house down her driveway till she could see me, then proceeded to tell me that she hoped I died from radiation poisoning. I have no privacy at all. Is there anything I can do? Please advise me.

You have no reasonable expectation of privacy, under these circumstances, anyway. Assuming they set these cameras on their own property, what the camera records is what they could see and hear without such equipment. Right? So what's the problem?

Not much you can do about the video but some States still do have audio laws that I would think your private convversation on your deck should be covered under.

Any question on law needs to include your general local as laws vary by area.

You might be able to file a harassment suit against them. I would check with a local attorney on that.

I would also look into some jammers. Find a store in your area that specializes in security. You may be able to install a jammer to interfere with either the audio or video or both.

Canada? I see that Texas has peace bonds.

See if you can get another one. How close are the two houses?

So do you have cameras or something looking at them, They were the ones with guns.

For cameras, yes they can have all the want, it is the audio that varies by location, some are OK, others need a sign saying that property is monitered.

If they are monitoring , their yard and home, how close is yours, to hear you talking on porch, it would have to be within a few feet really.

And Scott is right, just get jamming equipment, makes all of their audio and often video useless
