Chances of pregnancy for a friend of mine?
My friend has been on Ortho Tri Ciclen for 3 weeks and she isn't perfect at taking the pill. She and her partner had sex the last day of her period and his condom broke causing him to finish inside of her. She took 4 extra Ortho Tri Ciclen today and is taking 4 more tomorrow. What are her Chances?

Yes there is a chance... no form of birth control is 100% effective.

It can't be quantified. Any time you have penile insertion you risk pregnancy. You can minimize the risks but not eliminate them.
She should NOT take the pills EXCEPT as instructed by her doctor. And 4 in one day is too much. The medication is supposed to prevent ovulation. If it is not taken properly and ovulation occurred, then impregnation is possible. If she did ovulate taking more of the pills will do nothing to prevent pregnancy.
See this site for more info on the medication Ortho Tri-Cyclen Information from Drugs.com (http://www.drugs.com/ortho-tri-cyclen.html)
And tell your friend she should discuss this with her physician. If she doesn't take this medication exactly according to instructions she should think about an alternative birth control. And she shouldn't take any medication without fully understanding what it is and what it does.

Thank you! She has been off and on Otho Tri Cyclen for about 3 years more or less and she had to start it up again 3 weeks ago she just became sexually active this year and this was the first time she had an incident like this. I am her best friend and just trying to help her out because she is in her last year if high school and doing college as well so pregnancy is a no go for her. Her taking that many pills was just her freaking out. It says that she should not be sexually active without a condom for 7 days if Sheba taking the pill properly and that she should be OK being unprotected after 3 weeks but the condom popped so she freaked out. She was also (this was TMI or me) still on her period when she decided to do that and from our understanding most girls do not have big chances of being pregnant till 14 days after their period because of ovulation.
