I have a Kenmore Ultra Wash model # 665 17805890

Problem: The unit turns on, press Normal Wash and the tank begins to fill then it stops. Normally it would begin the wash cycle. I get a several sec hum then nothing. To make matters worse the tank will not drain using the Cancel/Drain button. I have cleared the white drain tube, but with same result.

Have you checked the float? Also, you need to check the pump and the hoses attached along with the filter. Here are some manuals that may help: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/8010163/Whirlpool_Dishwasher_Service_manual.pdf

Other than the pump and the above-mentioned components you could have a problem with the touch pad, which is common. To fix it you have to do it the same way you fix a remote control keypad. Remove the circuit board with the keypad and carefully peel off the keypad. Clean both with a soft toothbrush and shampoo or liquid dishwashing soap. Under each button you will find a carbon disk that makes contact with the contacts printed on the circuit board. Make sure you are very careful cleaning these and if one is loose make sure to glue it back on. Rinse both parts off with water then dry and wipe off with rubbing alcohol to remove any residue. Dry in the sun, if possible to get very dry. If there are any parts on circuit board like a plug receptacle with a cover that can hold any water then pour alcohol on it and dry in sun to bake it dry. Reassemble with a small bead of GE Clear Silicone Caulk around the edges. You now have a like new touchpad. This also works for TV remote controls but without using silicone. Make sure you do not get any silicone on circuit board near any buttons as it will insulate it from electrical contact.
