I'd like to Correct the Problem somehow as I admitted so am Computer Illiterate... A couple of people had been on the Computer and not everyone shuts down properly.. When I turn on the Computer a black & white message comes up on the screen telling me the Computer is checking File System " C " , checking a disk for consistency, the progressive countdown as it checks the files.. I'm told this is so because of not shutting down properly.. What can I do to correct this so I don't get this message... Thanks

Once the consistency check completes and Windows boots, it should be fine. It should not come back.

I'd keep the people that don't shut down properly off your computer after that. If you can't do this, it is likely that the consistency check will need to run again. The improper shutdowns are scrambling things, the consistency check is trying to fix them.

I hope this helps,
