Do married men have wet dreams? Wet dreams of another femal other than their wife?
If so, why?
(maybe it's a silly question but I'm curious ;) )

Honestly,
I do not remember having a wet dream since I was married. It happens more when you're a teenager but not as an older person.
As far as having dreams about other people, I think everybody has different dreams about different people. If so, why? I do not know. Good question. If people could control their dreams. Lol

Well I know someone who had a wet dream, he is married and in his 30's!
I found it hysterical... lol but my friend who is married to this man didn't so much :p

I hope she is going to let it go. It is not like he can control his dream.
He should have kept it quiet, maybe hard too. Or just say he was dreaming about her, ooops if he did not mention any other names.
OMG what a pickle.

Are there any married men at AMHD that experienced this?

Mar 27, 2007, 01:11 AM
It doesn't mean anything. Plenty of older married men have wet dreams. Wet dreams do not have to be accompanied by erotic dreaming. Please don't read anything into your partner having a wet dream.

Well, Krs, although you know I am not a man and I am of the "other persuasion", men of all ages have wet dreams. Very often, when they are teens, on occasion when they are married, quite a lot if they are married and unhappy with their sex lives. Women have wet dreams too you know. Those don't usually start until they are sexually experienced. If women who are very sexually experienced and claim not to have them AT ALL, then either they just don't remember the dreams or they don't enjoy sex. Your friend is definitely overreacting. Tell her, "so what?" Happens on occasion to everyone. The guy is dreaming, not screwing around on her. He was comfortable enough to discuss it with her. She needs to relax. If it freaks him out, then there is a problem. Otherwise, she is being jealous over an unknown quantity. How silly is that?

I know.
I said to her, we can't control our dreams LOL.
She said but it wasn't her in the dream...
So I said again we can't control our dreams...

Exactly. Here's what you do, get a couple of those Heinekens you have there and have her suck a few down. Make sure you are in a bar with some decent looking guys while you are doing it. Make some comments and suggestions about each one of them to her. "Gee, I wonder how that bloke is in the sack?" or "I wouldn't kick that one out of bed" or "Mmmm, young boys, yum yum" or "He looks like he is packing something worth using",. whatever it takes to make her laugh and get her to do the same. Joke around and get her mindset right. Maybe she will have a dream of her own and the score will be tied. :p

If a man doesn't ejaculate for awhile, the body has to get rid of the accumulated sperm. Delicious wet dreams are God's reward for not masturbating or having sex. Often, it's worth the wait.

I don't think it matters if you are married or not, I'm sure that if us guys leave it long enough without sex or some kind of ummmm, relief so to speak, eventually a dream of that sort will happen regardless of age..

Wet dreams, or nocturnal ommissions as they are technically named, can happen to anyone at any time. They are however not quite as obvious when you're a woman. They could be caused by sexual frustration, but to be honest, a little too much baywatch can do it. Especially if you 16. They can't be controlled so there would be no point in getting upset by them, and even if the person was not his wife, they could be linked so something his wife said or did over the past few days. If it was my bloke, I might tease him a little but I wouldn't be hurt. I'd also be really pleased he felt comfortable enough to tell me about it. I have to admit I have had a few, I just put it down to the fact I have a very good imagination, and they are fantastic. So much easier than having to wake up your other half at 4am lol.

She is a good friend of mine.:D
But, to answer your question, look at BlueRose's response. You kind of made it sound like the only time it happens is if a man hasn't ejaculated for a while. I have also never "heard" you refer to God before. So, all in all, you surprised me today. You are a man with many sides to your personality. If nothing else, you certainly helped wake me up real fast this mornin'.

A man can have a wet dream anytime.
You should ignore it. We all have dreams about people other than our partners. This could mean that they aren't having as much sex as he'd like, so his hormones go wild with whichever woman he can think of.

I can't remember the last time I had a wet dream, but I usually wake up before it gets to that point (probably some underlying fear from when I was a teenager!). I don't think it's really a big deal, and not because I'm a guy, but because regardless of all the books and people out there, no one definitively knows why we have some of the dreams we do. I dream every night and they're vivid enough to seem like reality to me, but unless I realize it's a dream, I can't control how it plays out. I believe sometimes it's just the minds way of trying to relieve stress.

I think more common when younger. Can't speak for others.
and as for wondering if its an erotic dream about his wife or another... please! This is just silly.
most erotic dreams I have are random and half the time I wake up before the "fun" really begins. *man that's REALLY annoying* sooo... its not like its scripted. Who cares as long as the marriage is healthy and their sex life is fine. And even if its not, I think blaming neurons firing at 2AM isn't the real solution.

I'm very, very close to the big 30, and married and I have wet dreams. It was explained to me that it your body's nartrual way to release excessive sexual fluids. I can think of other ways to release them?? Funny thing was that I told one of my friends about it and he became extremely jealous. I mentioned this to my doctor and she asked if my sexaul patterns had changed. They had not. She reasoned that it was my new workout routine. I began lifting heavy weight and taking a supplement that aids the body in prducing testosterone. I stopped taking it, but I still have a gooooood wet dream every know and then.

If you're not getting much action, masturbation is probably not such a bad idea. It's always a good way to release excess semen, so as to avoid wet dreams. A lot of guys masturbate in the privacy of their shower. Not only does the semen get washed off (sometimes, a part of it doesn't, so be sure to make sure all your baby gravy is gone), but the water provide a weak lubricator.
If you feel your partner should know, let her know that a man HAS to get rid of that semen, be it sex, masturbation, or wet dreams. Masturbation is the cleanest and most fun:D

Jesushelper76, could you elaborate? I meant clean in the sense of "there won't be semen on the sheets"
Are you talking about the "moral" cleanliness of the act?
JoeCanada76
Mar 31, 2007, 09:24 PM
Masturbation for men releases sperm. Sperm is sticky and messy, that is what I meant that it is not that clean.
Never meant it as a moral anything. That did not even enter the discussion.

Oh, okay.
But in a shower with running water, although sometimes some stick, 95% of the time there's nothing to clean up.

It would be my bet that almost all married men have had a wet dream since they have been married. And in my case I have had them while dreaming of someone else besides my wife but I have no idea of who the person might have been, they never have an identity. And the sex with them is never completed there is always a problem, maybe I can't get her clothes off or my hands are tied or we just can not get into a position that I can get it in her. But that does not keep me from having an orgasm and that is when I wake up, when I feel the orgasm start.

Or Skell, you can stay single, then you don't have to worry about getting a wife's permission to have a wet dream! It's a little late for me, but I always wake up before I make a mess anyway. My wife has given me a bad time about grinding and moaning in my sleep, though.

I was always under the impression that the sex stops after one signs the marriage license. I would hope that you could still enjoy your dreams. Luckily, I haven't jumped in front of that bullet yet, so, all I can say is that unmarried men, with girl friends, never have time or the energy to have a wet dream. Although, I have been known to make a map of Hawaii when the ball and chain isn't around.

Hell, as a married man I get far more sex than I ever dreamed of as a single man. Don't have wet dreams since as a couple we can explore most of our mutual fantasies. Not all, but I do know that's asking a bit much so am quite happy with what I have knowing most married men are not so well off as I am. Wife's not perfect, trust me, she really gets on my nerves at times. But then, perfection is quite rare.

Its common for men to think about other women, because if you get deep down to the animalistic purpose of life, for men it is to spread the seed. Society, Love, and Obligation help to restrain these urges. So sometimes it may come out in an erotic dream, which is healthy, and is in no way the fault of the person.

The only time I have had a wet dream, is when I thought I was standing by the toilet having a pee, and in fact I was sleeping in bed... oops, fortunatley I realised before it was a full wee, just a short squirt.
