I just found a prescription of erythromycin 500 mg tablets (quantity 14 & take 1 tablet by mouth twice daily) for my girlfriend under my car seat. I have a strong suspicion she's been cheating on me and she has contracted an std because we haven't had sex in over a month. When I googled this drug chlamydia popped up everywhere. I need to know what this drug in this dosage is used for?

You had Google up and you didn't read further? No not for any STD, it is used for a common bacterial infection that any woman can get. Probably why she didn't want to have sex, she wanted it cleared up.

Aren't you the suspicious one !

Why didn't you just ask her?

Did you get it back to her, so she can get her medication >

There are many infections it can be used for.

UTI is a VERY common one - urinary tract infection. Good grief. I don't want sex when I have a UTI because it's irritating enough just having the UTI. And the dosage, qty, and duration are across the board for many conditions.

This is not to say she hasn't been cheating, but it's no more proof of cheating than finding a phone number under your car seat. You need better communication. Without it, mistrust rears it's ugly head. Love and mistrust are mutually exclusive.

Over a month? And you haven't talked?

Erythro is a very common antibiotic for several hundreds of conditions. It is also used commonly for people who are allergic to penicillin.

For example, it is used for UTIs, ear infections, tooth infections, boils, cysts.

You are jumping to conclusions.

The problem with Google and interpreting the results is that you will still see what you want to see. For example if you're having consistent bowel pain and you think it could be cancer and you Google it, you'll pass over IBS, Intolerances, gas, appendicitis, and skip right to colon cancer. You'll convince yourself that you see EVERY symptom there and convince yourself that you have the condition.

What I am trying to say here is that you've already come to the conclusion and now you're grasping at straws to make sure that all the evidence you've found, as circumstantial as it is, points to and supports your conclusion. She was guilty in your eyes before you found the prescription and this just supports your conclusion. Don't even insult us by calling it a suspicion.

This is honestly a symptom of a much deeper relationship issue. You don't trust her. You don't believe her. You don't respect her.

Give her the prescription and have the balls to ask it what it is for. As stated above, it can treat a hundred different infections, including a UTI. Which, if you actually talk to your Mate, you'll find out is excruciating to have sex with. So avoid it until it clears.

I took it for an infection and it also cleared my bronchitis. Best bronchitis stuff I ever took.
