I was on the shot for only 3 months and I recently got off it. My husband and I are wondering how long it takes for the affects of the shot to ware off?

It is individual to each person. Just know that it takes the average woman (with no birth control whatsoever) up to a year of trying to become pregnant. The more you try, and the harder you try, the harder it is to become pregnant. Stress plays a big role in fertility.

The shot is a tricky form of birth control, when it comes to wanting to conceive.Basically it all depends on your body, and how it reacted to the shot while you were on it, and how long it takes to get out of your system. Some women have no trouble conceiving immediately after stopping the shot. Some it takes months, or even years. I was on the shot for 6 months and it took us 18 months to conceive after that. But the shot did not agree with my body at all, and perhaps that is why. Typically doctors will tell you that after being on the shot, it can take up to 18 months to get pregnant before becoming worried over it. I'm afraid its just a waiting game my dear. Sorry, I know that isn't what you want to hear. Good luck, and best wishes.

I was on the shot for a year and a half. I went to other forms of birth control for a few months after I stopped taking it, and it agreed with me very well. I got pregnant after 6 months of officially trying and a year and 2 months after stopping depo. Hopefully it will work quickly for you. Unfortunately you just can't ever tell. Good luck and have fun trying. Don't stress over it!

It just depends on the person really. There's not a lot you can do to MAKE it happen, but you can always try, here is what I have found to be suggested thus far in my internet research...
Most couples get pregnant with in a year of trying and if you don't you should ses a doctor and get your insides checked out. Guy and girl both. Until that time, Try and stay active and eat right, studies show that those who have a BMI (and you can use a BMI calculator to find out what yours is) with a BMI between 20-30 are more likely to get pregnant, but over 25 is considered overwieght, so I would aim under that, but under 20 is not really healthy so that also would be bad. Also take a daily vitamine and a zinc and folic acid one also, they help.
And this might sound gross but try and aim that your boyfriend "finishs" inside you, with you on bottom. Directly after try placeing a pillow or to under your butt and hips to elevate your pelvious for about 15 minutes in order to help the spermies swim to the egg.
=)
Good luck!
