Hi,
I'm currently an E2 visa holder. I'm eligible to work through my work authorization card and am employed with a software company.

Now my husband's contract will change and we will receive a L visum. With my L2 visum I can apply for a new work authorization card.

My question is - what will happen in the timeframe until I receive my new L2 work authorization card, which usually takes 2-3 months?
Am I still allowed to work under my old card until I receive the new card?

Thanks so much for your help!

The old card expires automatically on the date your status changed. You would need to submit I-765 for new work permit as L2 not E2. Your Social Security number would be the same.
