I am concerned about what rights I will have as the mother once I sign this guardianship paper. My kids are living with my mom this school year and she is saying that I need to complete the guardian form for school or medical purposes. So once I sign this will this eliminate me for tax purposes... cause this will start in Aug... also will I have to have sometthing done to remove her from guardianship since this is just temporary?

Without reading the paper there is no way for us to answer. We can tell you that, for your mother to register the children in school from her address, she needs to be granted guardianship.

The paper should specify that it is temporary and can be revoked by you at any time.

As for taxes, that will depend on whoo provides more than 50% of her support.

If they were with you jan-July you should be Okay tax wise. Also if you are covering any expenses put that in the guardianship-example mom agrees to pay for. ______ expenses or mom agrees to pay guardián $xxxx per month.
