Dr Bill. I drank 7 beers and reach a blood alcohol level of 0 about 68 hrs prior to giving my sample. I know this because I have a home breathalyzer. Anyway, I'm male 180 pounds and in decent shape. I didn't eat much while I was drinking. I'm pretty sure the EtG cutoff is 250. Do you like my chances of passing? Also I drank 2 large glasses of water about 3 hours before testing and my urine looked pretty clear. Thanks

I was wondering if its possible for urine to show up positive for EtG about 16 hrs after using alcohol based aftershave. I'm in a recovery program and I know I'm not supposed to use alcohol based products, but my face breaks out in razor burn and itches like fire when I don't apply alcohol immediately after shaving. Yes, you'll likely fail an ETG if you used an alcohol based product, especially after only 16 hours. Since you know you're not supposed to use them, it's unlikely that they'll believe that the positive is from a product, and not alcohol consumption.

You are better off not using it, but if you had it would be best to tell them the situation before the test

If you use it, you will fail a test. I'd live with the itching, or find a product that doesn't contain alcohol. Aloe vera gel is a good choice, as is vitamin E cream.

Agree, if you use it, you fail the test, and they will not care why.

There are many good products, I have not used a alcohol aftershave in years. ( did not know they still made them even) I though that went out with my father and "High Karate" and things like that.

There are plenty of lotions that will work much better.

Breath alcohol content is different from EtG testing. One measure the amount of alcohol in the blood stream the other looks for metabolic markers in urine. From what I have read, EtG can be detected up to 80 hours after consumption. However, it depends on amount, metabolism, etc.

To be safe, refrain from drinking and do not use products containing alcohol. Look for an aftershave/skin conditioner that does not contain alcohol.
