****Never mind, found it: It's "To Grandmother's House We Go" with the Olsen Twins (LOL)
Looking for a movie, not sure when it was made. 80s or 90s, probably, and I think it was a TV movie for kids.
Can't remember many specifics about it. I know it involved hitchhiking or traveling with strangers for some other reason, and was around a holiday (Christmas, maybe Thanksgiving.) I think the hitchhiker might have been a kid, and I know for sure that at one point, they get a ride from a young trucker guy who is obsessed with Roy Rogers (could possibly be Will Rogers) and sings country tunes constantly.
I also know that the hitchhiker ends up befriending an old man, and I think at some point gets abandoned or betrayed by them somehow. There may have been two old people but I don't remember who played them, but I feel like at least one of them may have been either Van Patten, Van Dyke, or Jerry Stiller.
I know this is a pretty confusing description, sorry about that. I just haven't seen it since I was a little kid and for some reason it just popped into my head with these vague, scattered details. Hope somebody can help!
