I have an apartment with a sub radiant floor heating system. It is a gas furnace with an 80 gallon water tank and the pex tube runs in concrete.

I am in the process of evicting a non paying tenant and I am concerned he will destroy this heating system as I overheard him say that when he walks out the door for the last time he will just turn the heat up.

Can you give me a heads up as to what kind of things he could do to ruin the system? And what I can do to prevent any damage. His last day is tomorrow and I am planning to turn off the electricity tomorrow so minimal damage will occur.

Thank you for your help.

So what is your question? If your question is, can he do any damage by turning up the thermostat, the answer is no..

Be there when he moves and make sure everything is off, change the locks.

Is the Sheriff's office assisting with the eviction? Ask them to be present when he walks out the door and hands you the keyes. You should be doing an inspection of the property
