I was recently summoned to take a Paternity test by the county my girlfriend lives in here in New York State. Now what happens when they find me the father? I am disabled at the moment and trying to get SSD. My doctors will all vouch for me. I am still in the waiting period for my SSD. I have no problem taking the responsibility for my daughter, I just want to know what happens when I can't afford to pay for the bills they are going to hit me up for if I can't work? I am just trying to find out what happens and what my rights are? Please help me.

You can't get blood from a turnip. If you have no way of supporting a child there is little they can do.

When I get my disability, I will give as much as I can, but until then, they can't do anything? I just didn't know if they could take my vehicle, whicj is my only means of transportation. I don't have any other assets.

If needed, they can put leins on your assets. If this child proves to be yours, you can get social security benfits for it as well, and they can also garnish your ssdi wages. Call social security & ask them what all can be done & your local child support agency. They base child support on amount both parents earn and factor visitation in as well.
