I am due for my period on July 24. I was hoping to get it a few days earlier. I took a hot bath 2 days in a row and was wondering how soon after I should expect it. Additionally, am trying to get pregnant, so could I be pregnant if the period doesn't come earlier?

Thanks. I have taken hot baths and have gotten my period a day or so earlier. This doesn't regularly happen, but it has. I read that green tea also can bring it on. How soon will an hpt show pregnancy?

J, since we're talking about hot baths. I did mention that a hot bath while pregnant is not safe. I know I was told that by my doctor, but is that also an old wives tale?

Thank you. That's what I was told by my doctor, but it's been 10 years since I had a baby, and so many things have changed even since then. Heck, so many things changed from my first to my second child. When my son was born we were told to only place him on his side to sleep, and rotate sides every time we lay him down, not on his back, not on his stomach. Then when my daughter was born 4 years later, we were told back is best. I remember my mom telling me that when I was born, she was told to put me on my tummy to sleep. There are always new developments, new concerns, old concerns that are no longer concerns, etc. etc.

So, if the OP is trying to conceive, and could possibly be pregnant, a hot bath wouldn't be a good idea.

I don't want it to come at all, but if it does, I would prefer it come earlier as I have events over the weekend that I prefer not having my period for. Again, I am hoping to be pregnant, but there is the obvious chance that I am not

That's the fun thing about periods, they never come when it's most convenient, and there's nothing anyone can do to make them come when wanted. That's the really sucky part about being female. But it is what it is.

Sadly you're going to have to deal with possibly getting your period during these events. That's life.

I remember when I got engaged. We weren't going to get married for 18 months after we got engaged. When we picked the date I literally went through the calendar, tracked my period, so I could pick a date a week after my period ended. That way I wouldn't have my period for the wedding, or the honeymoon. Worked very well. :)

Your period is a part of life, and it comes when it's time for it to come. You'll have to schedule around it, or work with it, I'm afraid.
