Okay so I'm wondering when is it considered to be a really bad yeast infection... I have one, but I ahvent seen a doctor yet, I reallly want to go to the doctor, But I'm scared and nervous. I think I've told my mom, But I think she thinks that its not really a yeast infection. Im sick of the infection and the horrible itch, its embaressing.

How do I talk to my mom about this, I usuallly am not open about that stuff with my mom its weird:D But now I know I have to get this checked out Because I've ahd it for awhile...
What will the doctor do. Should I get my mom to make an appointment at a hospital? Or a clinic? I need advice Really bad :(:(

There is nothing to be embarrassed about. Many women get yeast infections-that is why there are so many commercials. You should just go to your regular doctor or gyno, but have you tried the over the counter yeast infection medicine? It is really easy to use. Try that first, but as the box says if you continue to get them you should see your doctor. There are many different things that can cause a yeast infection. Have you been on an antibiotic lately? Your mom should make you feel comfortable about talking about things like this. You shouldn't be embarrassed. You need to take care of it. Very uncomfortable huh!! Most of us have been there, luckily you can do something about it. These are just my opinions, I am not an expert, just life experience.

I would buy a pill for it. It is called canestan in the UK, but I would imagine there is an equivalent in the US. You can get cream for the itching too, makes it more comfortable. Most women get them at some point, a dr won't do much to be honest, maybe take a swab, but usually they rely on women telling them what the problem is! Try the otc medicine, sometimes it can take two doses, a week apart to clear the infection completely, and if it still doesn't work, go to the doctors. Good luck, I do sympathise!

Ladies, this gal has had this infection since last summer or early fall. I believe it is time for her to get to the doctor, but she is quite embarrassed to tell her Mum.

Maybe we should work on getting her to be able to open up to her Mum and talk to her.

Why don't you just say"mom I need to talk to you about something and it's really important." Tell her that you are embarrassed but she is the only person you can talk to about this. Tell her you think you might have a yeast infection and can she please make an appointment to the doctor. If you have trouble talking about these things with your mom maybe you need to tell her. She might not even know that you are having trouble talking about things like this. Once you get it all out in the open, it should be a lot easier. Maybe you can just ask her-is it okay for me to talk to you about stuff like this because I really don't have anyone else to talk to and I would appreciate it if you would be open and listen to me.

Also hun, remember that she has the same plumbing as you. She is built the same way. She has probably also had a yeast infection or two in her life, so she should know just hoe uncomfortable they are.

I am sure she would help you immediately if you tell her.
