Kitchen sink has two handles - when I turn hot or cold on, the water pressure remains the same for both. The sprayer has great water pressure but the faucet will take 5 or 6 minutes to fill up for dishes.

I googled this to see how to fix it, but all DIY tutorials show them taking off the faucets that are both hot and cold in one. I need to know how to take just the faucet part that the water comes out of off so I can see if maybe it just has water build up or something.

Also, my dishwasher runs and makes all the noises like it is working but very little water comes out. I wonder if that also has something to do with having hard water? Any help is appreciated. Details are also appreciated - this will be my first plumbing attempt.

Have you tried unscrewing the aerator on the faucet to see if the screen is full of sediment that needs removing? This frequently occurs in my home causing water to trickle from faucets.

As for your dishwasher, not sure where you would look to see if a sediment buildup is blocking water flow. I would start by phoning the manufacturer's customer service and asking them where to look, if this turns out to be the problem. Addressing the faucet first should indicate whether you're on the right track.

First things first. Unscrew the aerator from the spout and check the screens for trash. With the aerator removed. Can you get a full stream? Let me know, Tom
