Company to process the claim to either fix the bike or totalled it.

How or what is my notice to defend in court?

Please clarify a few things:

Was it a car or a bike that was damaged?

Did the vehicle have comprehensive insurance coverage?

And, with respect to your last question: are you asking what notice of a lawsuit you may expect? If they know your address, expect to be served, with a summons and a complaint, by a process server (or in some places by a peace officer).

Did you inform your insurance carrier of the suit? They should provide you with legal representation.
