My dog is a Pomeranian about 3 years old an 7-8 pounds she ate a blue block of rat poision 4 days ago she ate the block on a Thursday night an went to the vet on Friday the next day because I didn't know she had eaten the rat poision until I saw blue in her stool the vet gave her a shot an started her on vitamin k oral once a day it's been about 4 days she just seems real tired an Don't really want to eat dog food but will eat regular food she hasn't been sick an there's no blood in stool or urine she seems to have a little bloating going on but I'm not sure if that's were she just ate or if that has something to do with the poision she's normal all besides wanting to sleep an seems a little weaker I'm wondering if its likely she will pull through this if this medicine will save her?? Or if its too late (no sign of bleeding in gums, urine or stool)

Im a little confused. You are saying the bet has no idea about the rat poison? You need to get back to the bet! There are things you can give the dog like activated charcoal but since you waited so long in not sure it would help.

The blue blocks of rodent bait normally contain Bromadiolone, an anticoagulant poison for which the antidote is Vitamin K. The main symptoms to look for now that she is on the proper medication therapy are not bleeding gums but lack of blood in the gums. Keep checking daily to make sure the gums stay pink and let the Doctor know of any changes immediately. She has probably already had some very dark feces which indicate digested blood. This is the second symptom to watch for.

Listlessness and lack of appetite are minor symptoms which will disappate as the therapy progresses.

Here is the MSDS for the most popular of the blue block Bromodiolone baits.

NoHelp, I'm assuming "the bet" is the vet? Is that right?

The OP has been to the vet, and her dog is being treated for taking the rat poision. Did you read the question?

My stuoid auto correct on cell. Yeah, the way it was worded I thought she took the dog for a check up hadn't realized about the poison yet. Bit I thought maybe it was for the poison because of the vitamin k.

You really need to read over your posts before submitting. Even this one has spelling errors.
