I recently adopted a male English bulldog from a pretty rundown shelter. He is super friendly and doesn't mind bathes! But, he has the wounds(?)\bumps on his body. The bumps are around his mouth area (upper lip area as shown in photo). He has a bigger patch of hair missing on his shoulder area that has a couple scabs on it. Along with some bumps on his feet. He also has like a mass-ish ball of extra skin (it looks like) on the back of his leg. He is intact if that matters. Could you help me figure out what I have my hands full with? I'm going to take him to the vet, as I just got him, but what's the price range I'm looking at and what's up with him?

First things first, Bless you for giving this guy another chance. Too often adult dogs are left behind because people want puppies.
As far as price goes that is going to depend on what area you are in, which vet you choose and what is going on with him medically.
I would talk to friends and family (if you don't already have a vet you trust and with whom you have a working relationship) call ahead and ask for pricing. You may even be able to find some low cost spay/neuter clinics in your area to help defray the cost of other medical services.
When you do choose a vet don't be afraid to tell them your concerns about cost and devise a plan that you, the dog and the vet can work with. Tackle the important stuff first and work on him in stages if you must, in this economy it is understandable.
Bulldogs are prone to skin issues, there is no way to tell on the internet if your dog may have sarcoptic or demodectic mange or flea allergies or any number of other things.
I would definitely have him heartworm tested, neutered and properly vaccinated.
In other words-hard to say what you're in for-you won't know that until he is thoroughly check ed out, that's where your rapport with a good vet will come in very handy.

Thank you very much! We have a vet in town but honestly, I'm not sure I trust his work. I will be traveling around tomorrow to find a good reliable one with references. I can do payment plans but I don't think I could do 1000+ up front on that day. He is a total sweetheart! Big time sleeper as well as big time eater haha. I will keep this updated of treatment, cost, and diagnosis, just in case someone needs the same information I needed. Again thank you for your time! :)
