I have a Maytag refrig model MSD2654GRQ that I recently replaced the water filter. My icemaker has stopped working. Water and ice come through the freezer door. The water option works but the ice maker has not been making ice. Could this be caused by the new filter.

You probably stopped up the water valve with trash. Loosen the fitting coming out and make a jumper with a plug in connection on a plug wire to go to a 120 volt receptacle and try energizing the water valve with the outlet connection removed. If no water will go through the valve with it energized you will have to disassemble it and clean it out. It's pretty simple. If you get water there keep going until you lose the water flow.
