I have the owner's manual and the Service manual but neither show the routing of the mower drive belt through the idler pulley. Try as I might also unable to locate on the web. I've sent an e-mail to Lawn Boy but so far no reply.
Hopefully you can help with a drawing illustrating the correct belt placement at the idler pulley and the proper position of the idler as well.
