Huge, mid-sized, or small? Regional or all the same kids you know from grade school?
Tough town or mostly 'nice?'

Generally you just wing it along with everyone else winging it. They are no more savvy than you are, although some will pretend to be. Be pleasant and nice, and try to avoid gossip, cliques, and 'mean' girl groups. There's always a few King of the Hill and Queen Bee types who gather a following of sheep.

Value your closest friends more than anything in the world, and don't give them up for the most popular kids or some boyfriend.

Do they have an orientation scheduled for you? It may be the first few days of school or maybe before school begins.
