I'm only starting to learn about electronics, so forgive my confusion please.
I would like to install a switch on my desk to turn my PC power on or off. It is a novelty safety-type switch meant for 12V 2A applications. The PSU of the PC is around 500W with 20Amps, so obviously this little RC-style safety switch will melt or something if I simply cut the power wire (220V) and solder the switch in.
So my question... what wire gauge is recommended for this type of electrical load?
How can I still use this switch that I have? Do I need to install a relay?
Thank you
