I have read the tech sheet and tried every one of the possible causes for the machine to just stop, before completely filling.

Basically, If I push the start button again it will fill, and stop again completely. Then I push the drain button, it will drain and turn off again.

I am willing to purchase a new main control board, if I can feel certain this will solve the problem.

Do you have any ideas, your help is greatly need and appreciated.

Two parts control the filling of the dishwasher: the fill valve and the overfill switch. You first need to check that the float switch is free to move up and down. If it sticks or gets out of adjustment it will not fill correctly. You will need to use a meter to also check the water valve and you will need to find out when and how you are losing power to the fill valve. Just changing parts will not work too often. The overfill switch is the first place I would look. I do not have that exact manual, but they all work about the same, so here are some to check out: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/8010163/whirlpool_dishwasher.pdf
