We needed to change a 4 prong cord to a 3 prong cord on a Maytag Neptune dryer Model# MDE5500AYW. There are 2 skinny wires behind the fat neutral wire, how do I create a ground? Do I remove both skinny cords or just one? Or do I leave them both on?
Thanks for your help!

There should be a jumper that goes between neutral and ground. It's a flat piece of copper with slots on each end. It should be no problem. You got two hot wires and one ground/neutral wire. Page 32-33 of this manual tells you what to do: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/8010163/Maytag%20Neptune%20Drying%20Center%20Manual.pdf
Here is another one: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/8010163/Maytag_Square_front_Dryer.pdf
You will have no problems if you follow instructions. The three wire plug has a grounding strap to the cabinet and the neutral attaches in the middle with neutral wires.
