After removing the toilet to install ceramic tile, I dropped a screwdriver down the open drain. I used the magnet from an old hard drive tied to string but it won't go beyond an elbow in the pipe. My husband is convinced that we should just re-install the toilet and deal with it if we have an issue. I have gotten plenty of opinions- just wondering if anyone has experience with this.
Thanks!

Hubby must be a gambler. If the screwdriver was a small one it might be washed out into the city main. If it were larger and heavier then it will just lay there and snag paper and solids. If this were my call and the toilet was still pulled I would attach a magnet to a snake and attempt to retrive it. But if you wish to gamble you can reset the toilet and hope for the best.
This screwdriver could turn into a costly mistake if you let it get into the drainage system and clog it. Good luck, Tom
