My index finger the second interior joint is purple and has a small buldge in it. It always feels like if I were to have a small piece of glass in it when I touch or move it. I have not injured it at all and this keeps happening in this one finger. It has now been 6 hours since the pain started and is still happening. Should I be concerned? What is it?

It's not uncommon and usually goes away (yes, blood vessel) but we don't know anything about the rest of you, from age and health to family history. Even a bone break in a finger is just splinted, such as if you had a bone cyst that created a very weak spot. Answer back in several hours to say how it is.
