What considerations should be made prior to performing demolition work? This is a general question for any work done on any room of a house.

Locate all the bearing walls and make sure you don't knock them down. You don't want to find your roof falling on your head. Shut off electrical feeds into the room you are working on. Shut down all plumbing feeds into the room you are working on. If you are planning major renovations, you need to check with your town to see if permits are required.
I am sure I have forgotten something but I am sure someone else will stop by and give additional advice.

You did good Ruby... As an old remoder, gutting a room was really not considered demo work, but then it may just be a generational or locality vernacular. :D nm

LOL nm. I try to never take anyone's knowledge or vernacular for granted. Try to cover all the bases is my motto! ;) heehee.
