Our pool shower which has never been used( house is 8 yrs old ) will not get hot. I have hot water at sink. Tried to adjust stops to blend water but still won't get hot. Any suggestions

Check your shut off valves... you might not be getting hot water to the shower valve at all. THey would be turned off while doing the plumbing work and its possible one of them was never turned back on. Particularaly if its an outdoor shower and the temprature ever gets below freezing.

Is this a single handle shower valve (or two or three handle)? A name brand would also help...

Here, if you have a single handle valve the balancing spool and/or cartridge assembly may be clogged or seized up. In this case, you could try removing the cartridge/balancing spool and clean the cartridge/balancing spool in some CLR (calcium/lime/rust remover) for a half hour and then see if that unfreezes the unit. Otherwise, a quick replacement of the cartridge/spool should resolve the issue. While you have the cartridge/spool out be sure to turn hot and cold water on to clear the valve of any sediment that could cause other issues for you, OK?

If you have a shower valve with two or more handles then I would suggest removing the hot stem assembly, pulse the hot water on to clear the line and then inspect and/or replace the hot stem... should resolve the issue in that manner!

It's a moen single valve. Thanks I am going to try taking out the cartridge to clean it or possibly replace it and see if that will fix the problem.

Replacement parts are usually covered under Moen's lifetime warranty, so you may want o call 1800BUYMOEN and chat with the guys in tech. support. They can usually diagnose the issue and send parts (including shipping) free of charge!
