The temperature is set to 65 degrees but no cold air is blowing and it reads 80 degrees inside, why is the air not kicking on? It also says eer under the inside temperature degree

Compressor working? Air handler blowing? The EER message is a low voltage fault. It is caused by a short in low voltage. Check wires outside to see if they are grounded or touching metal. Perhaps hit with a weedwacker? Chewed by dog or squirrel? If you do not see anything you will need to call service tech to check wiring.

Haha, ma. If I had a dime for every time someone's ac wasn't blowing cool air just to find the dog took had a fancy for the stat wires to the condenser, or the yard had recently been mowed and weedwacked, I would certainly have a few extra bucks in my pocket. Ive even seen mice take a liking to the wires in crawl spaces.

I had a ceiling fan in an old hunting cabin that stopped working. Squirrel chewed through. Unfortunately he must have done one at a time since I didn't find the remains.
